Kbox Studios 7th Year Anniversary

KBOX STUDIOS celebrated its 7^th Year Anniversary. It was a 3-day showcase of various artists coming from the different parts of Region 8 held at the Robinsons Place Activity Center. A celebration of existence and belonging to our much-pronounced Waray-Waray Culture has been the constant atmosphere all throughout April 6-8, 2018. An existence – that had probably been shelved for quite sometime from the Internet Generation that we belong to at present.

DAY 1 – Launching of KBOX RADIO via live take. Songwriters Romnick Hidalgo, Bjean Navarette, Oyo Anover, Romel Osias & Derek Delgado, Banal & Dogards, Aimee Delgado-Grafil, and Ronan “Bolingling” Reposar, played their original Waray-Waray compositions. In between music, Renz Naputo, Alyssa Padilla, Mark Simbajon, Arjay Babon, Aivee Badulid and poet laureate Nemesio “Totoy” Baldesco of Calbayog City delivered their SIDAY or spoken poetry.

DAY 2 – we introduced the KBOX STUDIOS Mobile to the public with FREE audio recording sessions for anyone who registered to record. The whole afternoon, FREE Music Workshops for Songwriting, Violin, and Advanced Guitar Lesson were provided by KJ Buloron, Julius Tadeo, Bjean, and Carlo Mendoza respectively.

DAY 3 – FREE Art Workshops. Archie Prisno provided the instructions for Pen & Ink while Tata de la Cruz shared her expertise using the Watercolor medium. The participants ranged from beginners to matured artists and even some local professional artists were among the crowd. Selected visual works were also in exhibit to represent KBOX ART GALLERY, the region’s top gallery where a local artist from within the region is featured every month.

Closing the 3-day celebration were live performances by a convergence of the new and seasoned musicians namely; Jandee & Yssa, John & Karen, Johanna Erroba, Isotones, Samoan, Risa Makabenta & Dandee Grafil of LSR, Arman Tayum & Lloyd Cajipo of Fine Three from Eastern Samar.

SIDAY, an integral part of our cultural heritage dating back to the early 1600s is the main motivation of KBOX RADIO. Listen to Bombo Jorgebulb, Bombo Cindy, and DJ Ramone every Sundays from 7-9PM at 95.1 Bombo Radyo Tacloban. Since we first aired on February 18, 2018, new breed of writers and songwriters have emerged and shared their works with us.

7 years after it opened in April 8, 2011, KBOX STUDIOS’ determination has evolved into a greater endeavor. It is routed towards an advocacy that is forthright synonymous with providing opportunities as well as a catalyst for undiscovered, unwritten, and undocumented homegrown talents in scope of the Waray-Waray cultural heritage. KBOX STUDIOS is determined to uphold its perspective in supporting the Arts, Music, and Literature of the Eastern Visayas Region.
